With Aim to promote hockey and to explore new “SURJIT” among the budding players, Surjit Hockey Academy for local boys of Jalandhar and neighbouring districts with a sperate identity, started their activities with 10 players during the COVID-19 pandemic, after relaxation in gathering. Now, more than 200 players are attending this coaching centre, here at Surjit Hockey Stadium, Jalandhar.

Players under age group of 5 and 16 years are given training by the expert coaches like Olympian Rajinder Singh, Daronacharaya Awardee, Ms. Pardeep Kaur, NIS trained Hockey Coach, Mrs. Sita Devi, NIS trained Hockey Coach, Prof. Balwinder Singh, Coach, Mrs. Bindu, Former National Player and Mr. Naresh Kumar Nangal, Coach.

Academy impart training free of cost to all players and all types of hockey equipment are also provided by academy free of cost. Recently, Academy has concluded 150 days long hockey coaching camp where every player was given best diet including soaked almonds (About 4 quintals sponsored by Tut Brothers of USA) to campers and this camp is now known as “Badaman Wala Camp” all over India.

The Academy has tried its all-level best to keep the name & fame of the above Hockey Legend alive in the Country as well as world Over by providing utmost modern facilities to the players and in a short span of time, Hockey India (HI), the apex body for the game of hockey in India has given direct affiliation of Surjit Hockey Academy as Member Unit. Now, Academy is eligible to participate in the National Championship for Academies. Upheld the legacy of Olympian Surjit Singh Randhawa by providing modern training facilities.

The Surjit Hockey Academy also conducts the coaching camps for upcoming Hockey Lover Children every year to explore new “SURJIT” among them. The Society has not stopped here but have equally stepped ahead to help the poor and needy parents for the marriages of their wards and to help them to smile with Society. The Society has honoured eminent Hockey Stalwarts, Hockey Olympians, eminent sports persons & NRI’s from time to time to remain in touch with the public.
